Q. Who runs or owns the Cornerstone Ministries?
A. The Cornerstone is a non-profit corporation, and is administered by a Board of Directors elected by and from the Volunteer Staff.
Q. What church denomination does the Cornerstone represent?
A. The Cornerstone is an inter-denominational organization, and all staff are required to be active in a local church. A letter of recommendation is required from the Pastor of the applicant (or in very large congregations, a Sunday School teacher or person in authority in the congregation) prior to being considered for a staff position.
Q. What authority is available for this ministry?
A. As each staff person is from a local congregation, each member is under the authority of their "home" congregation. When needed, advisement is sought from those "home" pastoral staff. We also consult our Referrals and other pastoral staff from the area.
Q. How is The Cornerstone supported? (Where does the money for operations come from)?
A. 10 to 15% of The Cornerstone's income is received through the sale of concessions. One local church sends a small monthly contribution. A few individuals contribute regularly on a monthly basis. These regular contributions constitute a small portion of the $1000 + needed per month.
A Walk-A-Jog-A-Thon is held on the second Saturday in May each year to raise funds for a large required liability insurance policy. At the present time this policy costs more than $700. If additional funds are raised, they help to defray heating and cooling expenses through the year.
The remainder of the operating costs are received from individuals and two churches who contribute to this ministry as the Lord leads.
